Ilfracombe - so sad and neglected

by DellyM

I'd never been to Ilfracome, which is just down the coast from where we were staying so we decided to take a drive to see what it's like. What a disppointment. This seaside resort desperately needs some capital investment. The seafront buildings are run down and in desperate need of refurbishment. The main road needs diverting as it runs straight through the main area of the town. The result is a constant stream of traffic creating poor, fume filled air. Then there's the Landmark Theatre, what an eyesore!! I won't go on, even though I could. I found it quite sad that somewhere with such potential is in a state of neglect and decline. On the positive side, it made us very pleased with our choice of staying in Lynmouth!

The Landmark Theatre - pretty eh?!
