Evening entertainment on the beach
For a spot of entertainment –take a seat at the Pier Theatre and watch one of the traditional seaside shows which entertain the crowds each year. During the summer months, Bournemouth hosts Bournemouth Live! Music Festival. Stroll down to the Pier Approach area and listen to the sounds of live music under the stars, on our open air stage with bands playing folk, rock & roll, tribute, pop, country and much more.

Bournemouth is full of pubs and clubs and has a real party atmosphere. Over the years a result of this, is that it is now full of hen and stag do's most weekends of the summer!
Many of the bars embrace large parties, but you might want to break into smaller groups to get into certain places.
You will be able to work out yourself when approaching the establishment by the appearance of the people in the queue and the attitude of the door staff their tolerance level.
Dress Code: Dress smart...that way, the bouncers won't have an excuse to turn you away!
If you want to dress up, be prepared to be turned away from a few bars, but don't worry...with more pubs per square mile then London (alledgedly) you will find somewhere to let you in.
The guy in this pciture had managed to get into a few bars...

Awarded British Resort of the Year status, Bournemouth is quickly gaining itself a reputation as the entertainment capital of the South Coast.
With an abundance of pubs, bars and clubs, you can easily see why Bournemouth celebrates a large party culture.
As it’s on the tour circuit for many tops bands and international DJ’s, the city draws in large crowds who clamour to see the acts whilst soaking up the electric Bournemouth atmosphere.
The music scene definitely leaves room for change and progression, so as clubs constantly move with the new music trends, more and more nights are introduced to this lively seaside resort.
Bournemouth retains its youthful and upbeat atmosphere due to the large population of students that constantly ebb and flow through the city year after year.
As well as students, the city attracts a proportionate amount of hen and stag parties, all drawn to the bright seaside lights and exciting atmosphere which Bournemouth delivers in bucket loads.
So from jazz to soul, 70’s funk to hip hop or any other genre of music, you can not fail to enjoy yourself in this extremely happening seaside resort.

The Great Escape is great for dancing the night away in its compact downstairs "club" - and for upstairs you can mellow in the cosy booth type ares adoring the moroccan decor whilst conversing a load of drunken old ***e into the ear of the stranger perched next to you.
Oh and the DJ has good taste in music too - perfect for anyone over 20 who loves to dance to a funky cocktail with a sprinkling of old school!
Dress Code: Smart casual... Not sure guys can wear trainers but I sure as hell got away with it last friday :o)
