Evening entertainment on the beach
For a spot of entertainment –take a seat at the Pier Theatre and watch one of the traditional seaside shows which entertain the crowds each year. During the summer months, Bournemouth hosts Bournemouth Live! Music Festival. Stroll down to the Pier Approach area and listen to the sounds of live music under the stars, on our open air stage with bands playing folk, rock & roll, tribute, pop, country and much more.

Pub Crawls: Stag do's and Hen Nights
Bournemouth is full of pubs and clubs and has a real party atmosphere. Over the years a result of this, is that it is now full of hen and stag do's most weekends of the summer!
Many of the bars embrace large parties, but you might want to break into smaller groups to get into certain places.
You will be able to work out yourself when approaching the establishment by the appearance of the people in the queue and the attitude of the door staff their tolerance level.
Dress Code: Dress smart...that way, the bouncers won't have an excuse to turn you away!
If you want to dress up, be prepared to be turned away from a few bars, but don't worry...with more pubs per square mile then London (alledgedly) you will find somewhere to let you in.
The guy in this pciture had managed to get into a few bars...
Bournemouth Night Life
Awarded British Resort of the Year status, Bournemouth is quickly gaining itself a reputation as the entertainment capital of the South Coast.
With an abundance of pubs, bars and clubs, you can easily see why Bournemouth celebrates a large party culture.
As it’s on the tour circuit for many tops bands and international DJ’s, the city draws in large crowds who clamour to see the acts whilst soaking up the electric Bournemouth atmosphere.
The music scene definitely leaves room for change and progression, so as clubs constantly move with the new music trends, more and more nights are introduced to this lively seaside resort.
Bournemouth retains its youthful and upbeat atmosphere due to the large population of students that constantly ebb and flow through the city year after year.
As well as students, the city attracts a proportionate amount of hen and stag parties, all drawn to the bright seaside lights and exciting atmosphere which Bournemouth delivers in bucket loads.
So from jazz to soul, 70’s funk to hip hop or any other genre of music, you can not fail to enjoy yourself in this extremely happening seaside resort.
THE GREAT ESCAPE: It literally is!!
The Great Escape is great for dancing the night away in its compact downstairs "club" - and for upstairs you can mellow in the cosy booth type ares adoring the moroccan decor whilst conversing a load of drunken old ***e into the ear of the stranger perched next to you.
Oh and the DJ has good taste in music too - perfect for anyone over 20 who loves to dance to a funky cocktail with a sprinkling of old school!
Dress Code: Smart casual... Not sure guys can wear trainers but I sure as hell got away with it last friday :o)
Bar Tonka: My favourite nights out in Bournemouth
Small but perfectly formed, this space used to be a bank and the marble floor still remains! Will Bar Tonka you know you'll always leave with a whole new set of friends...
like these girls!
Dress Code: Funky - but anything goes!
The Opera House: 10 pound all in
On the nights when the Opera House isn't waving it's glowsticks for Slinky it functions as a cheesy all you can drink nightclub.
The cheap price encourages a very young crowd ( 16) but the venue's spectacular being a converted opera house ( duh ) .
However actually getting a drink can be a struggle as you don't have to pay for them ,but you're only allowed two at a time.
Gets steadily rowdier as the evening goes on till everyone explodes onto the street in search of taxi's and kebabs.
Dress Code: Lots of stuff from Top Man and Burton's
Bar Bliss: How to feel inadequate
So you're feeling pretty sharp eh? The booze hasn't destroyed your eyes and shirt still looks ironed, you aren't wincing at any reflections ,and you feel pretty good about yourself, then you go to Bar Bliss and your sense of confidence nosedives.
This place is ridiculous ,it's like a bloody advert ,some of these girls are actually perfect.
Time to move off the pints and onto the Vodka cos it's gonna be a long night.
Dress Code: They would probably want you to wear shoes , doesn't mean you should though.
The Fire Station: Anarchy in Dorset
SO you've been tearing up Bournemouth on a pub crawl all day ,but the trendies are starting to look at you funny and you feel a need to urgently find more people who are in as bad a way as you are.
You may need to kidnap a student to get you signed in as its run by the Students Union, but once you've signed the form with a X you're in like Errol.
This place is hard to get thrown out of and impossible to get banned from and there's a cocktail bar up the back that does a mean black russian , i'de like to say more but i started wearing Steve's glasses to make myself look more intelligent and it all went wrong after that.
Dress Code: No morals
jumping jacks: love clubbing
This is were most of the younger people go after they have been to all the pubs in bournemouth. You get a good group of people varying in ages and some good entertainment from the staff ,a bit of coyote ugly.
Dress Code: smart casual no trainers or jeans
