A nice place to visit is the village of Studland in Dorset where you can take the walk out to Old Harry Rocks. When you get to Studland village (coming from Corfe Castle direction) take a right turn at the crossroads and follow the road until you come to the Bankes Arms hotel.Next to the hotel you will find a National Trust car park, parking £4 all day or free to members.
The walk takes about 20-30 minutes a distance of around 1 mile. From here you have lovely views across to Poole,Bournemouth,Hengisbury Head and on a clear day the Isle of Wight. On your return you can stop at the Bankes Arms hotel for coffee, lunch or cold drink. The hotel has a large garden area (see Studland travelogue)with tables and benches and sea views.Inside there is an old type bar with log fire in winter.
We went to the Tank Museum near Weymouth for the morning. I had no idea there were that may different types of tanks. We could have easily spent the entire day there. My husband took our son for a ride on a 'tank' (it was tracked, but not really a tank).
