Take a steam railway ride to Corfe from Swanage station.
in Summer 2012, an adult single was about 10.50GBP and a return about 16GBP - Children 7GBP and 11GBP respectively.
However, many people take the train there and get the bus back.
There are also "special occasions" - see the Swanage railway web site for details.
Unique Suggestions: Book train tickets early on line for busy times (allow time for postage)
It's lovely basking along the Swanage seafront, seagulls calling, children laughing; then the deck chair attendent comes up and declares it's £1.50 to sit for four hours!
Cheaper to bring one of them fold up chairs I think.
Unique Suggestions: Make sure you got £1.50 (daylight robbery)
Fun Alternatives: Bring a fold-up chair, or simply use you bum.
Fabulous beach but can be a little crowded in parts and at peak holiday times.
Unique Suggestions: Go towards Eastern end away from town centre - the sand is better and the crowds thin-out a lot by then!
