UPDATE: Such a shame, but on my last visit to Coggeshall in 2007 I saw that Goodies has been put up for sale. The shop was empty and closed up.

This is an incredible little shop which is great fun to explore. As well as selling a variety of gifts and knick-knacks, Goodies specialise in furniture for dolls houses. The room at the back is devoted to this and there are rows of glass cabinets absolutely chock full of tiny items of furnishings. Everything from dainty little dinner services, to miniature books. Anything for the home that you might find full sized is here in miniature.

What to pay: It really depends on what you buy - if you have a dolls house to furnish, you can spend anything from a few pounds upwards.

Fabiola - for gifts and jewellery.

    Fabiola.

Fabiloa is in the centre of Coggeshall and used to be my favourite shop to visit when choosing a gift for friends. On my last visit to England, I was introduced to Pilgrim jewellery, and became an instant fan. Fabiola seems to be a major stockist of Pilgrim, as well as other brands of fashion jewellery and other gifts including delicious Belgian chocolates.
Pilgrim uses a lot of glass and enamel, and create jewellery around themes of colour, which is why it's a good idea to buy it from somewhere like Fabiola as you are more likely to see pieces in the colour you want - actually this means you are likely to want more, so bring your credit card. Pilgrim isn't expensive, but I found my enthusiasm for it got rather carried away!! One necklace just wasn't enough.

What to pay: I spent lots - but expect to pay anywhere between twenty and one hundred pounds per piece.
