Church Street Post Office: Where To Get Your Postcard Stamps
Here in the UK you can buy postage stamps from all sorts of places but these are for UK postings only. If you need postage stamps for anywhere else you'll need to find a Post Office.
Here in Harwich the Post Office in Church Street not only sells stamps but the postcards to go with them. It also has all sorts of useful other bits and bobs including souvenirs and gift items.
As a main Post Office it also provides a full range of postal services and counter services such as Foreign Exchange, money transfers, phone cards and mobile-phone top-ups. Also useful is the ATM out front, but I think there's a charge for using it.

Harwich High Street: General Shopping Tip
Harwich's High Street is the continuation of Main Road which runs eastwards from the town's railway station. The High Street links the contiguous towns of Harwich, Dovercourt and Parkeston (where it once again becomes Main Street) although it's unclear where the individual townships boundaries are.
Here you'll find a good assortment of shops, banks and other services with an almost equal representation of smaller branches of the major chains alongside some interesting little privately-owned retailers which makes for a quite a lively, and useful, one-stop shopping centre.
