Don't be suprised about the bleach
Being a regular vistor to Brixton, it strikes me as being the most bleached out place in London. Everywhere I turn I see black women with faces 15 million shades lighter than their hands. Often they are a bright red or greenish tone. Some times they are bleached so much that you suspect they are a burns victim, and to think that wouldn't be wrong for they are; victims of the bleach burn.
The picture I have put up is of a beauty salon window I recently walked past in the market area in brixton. These are the posters that were hung up in the window to entice black women into the shop. And it is a before and after poster. The before is dark haired, dark eyes and medium brown skintone and the after is a washed out skin colour with blue eyes and blonde hair. This kind of advertising is horrific to me. She looks rdiculous to me but then there must be women who feed into this crap or they wouldn't still have the poster up.

Ignore the drunks
There are a group of drunk men who hang around in the oval not to far from the cinema... They like to call out to people as they walk past... normally a greeting... don't bother replying because they'll just try and drag you into conversation and you'll wish you hadnt...
