A major landmark on the main road in Brixton is Morley's, an independently owned (in fact family owned) department store. This large shop sells almost everything (except food) including clothes, cosmetics, gifts, furniture and kitchen accessories. The wares seem to be of excellent quality, with a modest price premium to match!
It is actually interesting just to walk up the staircase to the top floor - there are photos and information about Brixton on the walls in the stairwell.
Morley's has a useful coffee shop perched on the first floor overlooking the Brixton tube station and the main street - useful for people watching! Unfortunately this is not a small independent coffee shop but an international chain. At least it is not Starb*cks!!

Its cool, trendy and junky all at once.
From trendy clothes and eccentric homeware, to kinky candy knickers and Superman coasters, it's a world of kitsch accessories, retro fashion and urban chic which you'll delight in spending hours trawling around.
I've spent many an hour plouging through this junkyard but never actually bought anything... hahaha! Actualy I bought a packj of playing cards once. I must say its good for novelty presents. I wouldn't buy clothes from there though. They may be trendy, but I'm not the type to spend an exorbiatant amount on clothes that look like I made them myself!
What to buy: Its mostly clothes, bag... then the other random stuff.
What to pay: Over the odds
