Steep hill to the Observatory
There is a very steep hill to walk up through Greenwich Park to the Observatory. For anyone with walking difficulties this could prove difficult and the Observatory and the view from the top of the hill is a Greenwich must see.
However there is a very easy way by using public transport to get to the top of the hill.
Take the DLR from either Cutty Sark or Greenwich to Deptford Bridge. Get off here and walk down the steps behind you to street level and go to the 53 bus stop. Take a 53 (Plumstead Station) bus about 1 mile to the gate of Greenwich Park gates and then walk through the park to the Observatory and then down the hill to the town.
Traffic rules goes for every one!
In front of the gate of Greenwich park no parking is allowed, not even for an icecream seller!
The police (woman) told him friendly but firm to move his van and leave.
Too late for me to run after it for an ice! `-)
