This is a particularly pretty and popular area to have a beer and socialise with friends, in summer. There are loads of people that hang out here at the river bank!
We like to have a beer and then go for a nice long stroll.
We also like it in winter, when there are FAR less people around and we can take a long walk along the river bank. There aren’t nearly as many cyclists, buggys or people clogging up the pathway.
As we generally commute everywhere within London, this is good exercise as it involves a lot of walking. Meeting up with friends for a stroll, whether at a gallery to go for a stroll along the Thames, or in the park.. each are enjoyable and good for one's health.
Equipment: A good pair of walking shoes!

If you need an afternoon or evening doing something fun, especially if you have kids, this is a good place to go.
It is in Kingston, which is zone 5, but you can get there directly from Central London.
This Rotunda shopping complex includes a multiplex cinema, David Lloyd fitness club and several bars and a few restaurants. The megabowl has 16 lanes.
Equipment: Clean socks, they provide the bowling shoes!
