    Gatwick Airport
  • Tip Rating:
  • Gatwick Airport is the international airport that is further out from town than Heathrow. It took us 45 minutes by tour bus to get to there from our hotel.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Well we ve been to London for 2 (or 3) weeks. We didnt get to anywhere just around the city by underground or bus. It was quite unuseless to see the cars going in the other side of the road. Once I almost stepped in the front of a fast car, wah! no! of a bus! Yes! Remember! So it was an experience cos here in Hungary the driver would have shout on me 'Hey stupid! Are ya crazy?' but this London bus driver stopped the bus, took off the bus came into me and asked 'everything is ok?' - so it was very nice and ive felt safety in my body... We went to everywhere after our head. We didnt have a plan what to do, we have got two maps and sometimes together, sometimes apart we just looked around the city.

  • Flying is definitely the best and the easiest way to arrive. You can of course use the Eurotrain but if you don't live in the middle of Europe, the plane is actually your only choice.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Lonodn has five airport (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and City). Almost all are well-connected to the 'Underground', but taking a cab is not that expensive (but cheap it is also not). Coming in by car is a very special adventure as the English drive on the 'wrong' side of the road. They say 'right' which it of course isn't, because it's the leftside :-) London has a perfect (incredably clean and efficient) 'Underground' (metro/subway) and is the largest in the world. But in London you can also travel well above ground. The London-cab is not that expensive and the bussystem is easy to understand and friendly to use.

  • Tip Rating:
  • There are direct flights to most major cities of the world. Many flights are direct to London Heathrow. Other airports with good access to the capital are: Gatwick (South), London City, Luton (North), and Stansted (East).

  • Tip Rating:
  • Fly in by aeroplane and see London from the air. Use the underground it's easy and your ticket can be used on the buses too. You can now take the train from the continent to the heart of London. London St Pancras is two minutes walk to Kings Cross station.

  • Tip Rating:
  • London has 5 airports. The largest are Heathrow and Gatwick. Luton and Stanstead are just north of London. Lots of the budget airlines use these two, like Buzz, Ryan Air and Easy Jet. And the last airport is the smallest, is City Airport. It is mainly used by business travellers. I have now used all 5 of them. I like Heathrow the best. It is easy to get to using the underground. The picture is of a plane at City Airport. I was going to Rotterdam with this airline.
