Walking Tours
Walking Tours. There are a number of tours available but the best can be found through Evan Evans tours as they have theme related tours such as Medieval London and the Jack the Ripper tour.

Wandering near the Thames with a friend, we stumbled across a weekly "Charing Cross Collector's Fair" for coins and stamps. I bought a Russian ruble coin for my own collection. If you like coins and stamps you might want to look into this free event, held every saturday. Please see the photos for more details and a shot of the general location.

    East London's Interesting feature
Wanted, one long term user! It seems that this is now no longer the case. The Millenium Dome is now called the O2 Arena and is a very busy enteratinment facility - many restaurants and cafes. I attended a performance of Andre Heller's Afrika Afrika - oddly, we had to wlak through the whole complex and then out the back doors to see the show which was being held in a 2000 seat circus tent and with associated tented restaurant and bar facilities.

We drove down to the southern east coast to cross over to Calais, France from Dover-the White Cliffs are truly amazing to watch and the seagulls were fun too-think it took about 2 hrs.

Rent a houseboat: Cruise the Thames
We rented a houseboat one weekend and cruised the Thames! The boat had a shower and slept 8. It's an amazing experience that I highly recommend.

    Try the Walking Tours
We took a guided walking tour through Camden Town. It has apparently become the 4th most visited attraction of London. Charles Dickens grew up there. The walking tour was well researched. The guide was well informed. It prepared us to better appreciate and enjoy what had to be seen. I had been to Portobello road and Covent Gardens and I really enjoyed Camden Town's market even more! Only 5.50 GBP, Every Saturday at 11:00 am. Just show-up in front of the entrance to the Camden Town Tube Station. The food selection available at the market is incredible! (French, Moroccan, Lebanese, Turkish, Greek, ...) I am definitely going back!

We took a stroll through St. James Park. It is beautiful. Has a large lake in the center with multiple types of birds.

    Earth from the Air
Well the iWitness exhibition that you could read about in the previous tip is no more. It is replaced now by another art exhibition called Eart from the Air. A stunning compilation of beautiful photo's taken by Yann Arthus Bertrand. Take a look at the pics that will give you some idea of what it's like. The exhibition is on tour. So if it's not next to the City Hall of London anymore take a look at the site of Earth from the Air to see where it has moved to next.

    West Hampstead
Christmas in West Hampstead - London

West Hampstead is deceiving, it clings on to Hampstead due to it geographical location, but where Kilburn ends and West Hampstead begins is a mystery to most. There's definitely a different crowd in West Hampstead to that of the posh heath. West Hampstead is filled with bars, restaurants, bakeries and the odd boutique. You'll be able to have a reasonably good night out in West Hampstead, it won't be a mad one, but respectable enough to be able to talk about in the office the next day.
