Berry Brothers - wine merchants of old
Wine merchants since the 18thC, still in the same premises on St James Street, with a picturesque cobbled courtyard behind it. It still has the books of the wine orders of people like the Duke of Wellington, written in that lovely handwriting of long-dead clerks!

Holland Park / 9 -- Peacock
You might get to see some peacocks in Holland Park. This one here didn't like to spread its feathers, though, so you'll have to be content with this picture. Don't put the blame on me, it was the bird's laziness, O.K.?

You must stop in and have a Guinness or two in one of the pubs with the local brits. :) I'd recommend stopping by 'The Essex Serpent' located in Covent Garden. :)

The Old Operating Theatre musuem and Herb Garret
You won't find this museum on any traditional London tour... It's a wonderful little musuem set up in the dome of an old church..If your interested to see what conditions were like in the old days for people needing medical care (amputations,,etct). You will find this musuem fascinating.. Check out their website.. *And don't eat lunch before you go!

You'll find Shepherd's Bush Market between Uxbridge Road and Goldhawk Road, alongside the Hammersmith Line (between the stations Shepherd's Bush and Goldhawk Road). This streetmarket doesn't seem to offer anything special, but you might find one or two bargains there. Lots of units with clothing and bags, some electronics, toys and stuff. I came across this market when walking back from the QPR Stadium on a Saturday afternoon.

a noteworthy place is the institute of contemporary arts. they have a nice selection of alternative cinema for a nice two-hour break from museums and touristy stuff. it's located at the mall, past trafalgar square. they have a nice bookstore where they have interesting mags and publications.
