The weather can be very changeable in the UK-so be prepared for all eventualities! Bring some comfortable walking shoes-unlike me! Once you start walking you will not be able to stop sightseeing! Tube travelling can be quite tiring too.
Bring plenty of money because everything is expensive! Leave a Comment

Only bring the basics. Shopping in London is fun. Spend an afternoon on Oxford Street or head to Camden Market to pick up whatever clothing items are needed. You can find some great items to bring back as presents as well.
Anything can be found in an English pharmacy(called Chemist here) that can be found in the USA. The staff are very helpful. Don't bring an entire medicine cabinet with you. There are several discount chemists found on most major high streets. High Street is the equivalent to American Main Street, the main shopping drag.
Film is expensive, actually all electronics. Buy disposable cameras in the USA, they are at least half the price than in England.
Buy a London A-Z (pronounced A to Zed) so you won't wander aimlessly, though not a bad way to see London ;-) Leave a Comment

Take something that you can carry easily. Granted, it doesn't matter what you brought once you get to where you're staying, but remember that from the airport, you'll probably have to take a combination of trains, buses, and/or taxis. Try to bring something with wheels or that you can carry.
If you plan on doing a lot of sightseeing, bring some comfortable shoes to walk around in. London is huge, and you'll do a lot of walking. Also, don't forget your umbrella, since it rains a lot - just try not to poke people's eyes out when walking down a street! For those of you who are fashion conscious, American styles aren't always fashionable here. If you want to look like a local, you can't go wrong wearing a lot of black. Most people here wear dark, plain clothing. i can't count how many black clothes I've acquired since living here! Leave a Comment
