Bring an umbrella!
It rains here most of the time and on and off. Don't be caught in this mess.

Dress nice when going out, even to the pubs. People just do.

Remember your hoody
London is alot like Portland, where I live. Lots of light rain, and not much sunlight. A warm, insulated, shirt with a hood to keep the light rain off you is a great thing to pack if you don't want to lug around rain gear.

Clothings, Shoes, Umbrellas
London is quite hot and dry during summer months especially in the month of August. Temperature can sometimes be more than 30 degree Celcius. Needless to say your clothings shall be as thin as possible such as several pairs of t-shirts or short-sleeve shirts, several pairs of shorts, comfortable walking shoes or sport shoes, a hat, a cap or a sunshade. Make it a point to bring along umbrellas and raincoats in your luggages and bags when you have to visit London in spring or autumn as it rains quite often especially in the months of March and April which are considered as wet months. You do not want your holidays to be washed by the rains!

Special things to bring and those to forget
Make sure that you know what season you are going in. It rains a lot in London so make sure to bring an umbrella and/or appropriate clothes/shoes

There are different outlets in Europe than in the US so make sure to buy a outlet converter when traveling with appliances like hairdryers and such.

T-Shirts & Jackets
Obviously, what you bring to London will depend on when you come. In the winter, jackets and thermals are in order. Whereas in summer the weather is usually warm and comfortable, and you can wear shorts and T-shirt. I would advise that you bring a waterproof coat and an umbrella, no matter when you come, just in case.

You can get all your toiletries and medical supplies here in London, so there's no need to bring them with you. However, prices can be quite steep over here, so you may decide to bring them from home.

There are so many sights to photograph in London, so you should definately bring your equipment with you. As with toiletries, films can be expensive compared with what you're probably used to, so you should bring these with you.

The closest beach to London is about 1 hour away, so you probably won't be needing any beach gear.

Umbrella
Pack an umbrella - it gets so rainy here sometimes, no matter what month of the year it is. It can be so frustrating when you are waiting for a bus and you get caught in a sudden downpour and the wind blows it all into your face and you can't see which bus is coming, and then the bus goes staright past you and you get splashed as it passes through a puddle... Just be prepared, alright?!

Packing List
Packing an umbrella is not a bad idea, but in summer you might also need sunscreen.
