Good roller bag to make it easy and a hand carry bag with essentials for at least one overnight so that other bag does not need to be opened as often
Good shoes, umbrella, and slicker..
Computers can be used from hotels..connections are the same except for electrical plug ins..my lap top, a compaq, worked fine directly off the hotel current as it is reduced to the right voltage by recharging unit

I've been blessed to experience what Spring, Summer and Autumm is like here in London. But this time round (due to shortage of space... or maybe it's just me... being lazy), I shall describe what I would pack along with me on a typical trip to London in SPRING time:- 3 pairs of black legstockings (woolen) 1 heavy woolen cardigan/ sweater 2 long-sleeved pull-over sweater (to combine with the cardigan). Very preppy looking. 1 pair of denim jeans (in black or navy blue) 1 pair of leather boots OR a sturdy pair of Doc Marten's shoes (love Doc Martens!). 1 pair of dressy high heel shoes 3 wool-knit/ jersey dresses (for BOTH day and evenings) 3 or 4 cotton-knit tees (to wear inside your cardigan) 1 pair of heavy warm flannel pajamas/ nightdress 1 trenchcoat (which you can carry on your arm) OR a warm coat - make sure it's rain-proofed and preferably with detachable lining (for obvious reasons)
DON'T forget to transfer all your toner, cleanser, night cream et al into small plastic containers - to save luggage space.
I don't leave home without my Olympus Digital Camera and my mobile phone (both are loaded with an extra 1GB memory stick each) for photo and video taking.
DON'T forget to bring along your much-treasured ATM card to withdraw cash. Yes, no need to rush to the money-changers to change all your currencies into British Sterling Pounds before your trip. Just ensure that you adhere to the following steps: Flip to the back of your local ATM card, do you see the logos 'Cirrus', 'The Exchange', 'Maestro' etc on it? If the answer is 'yes', then you have absolutely nothing to worry about! Why? Because you can withdraw cash from any ATM machines in the United Kingdom, no matter how obscure the town or village you're at is. If you use this method, you'd also save alot on the interbank exchange rates. Trust me. Would this sweet face (me!) lie to you? Money changers will charge you much, much more compared to a bank. I've used this method many, many times before and so far, no ATM machines in this world have failed me.

A case with wheels is always handy. If you bring a backpack, please watch out for people behind you when moving around, especially in the London Underground as commuters can get quite tetchy!
All weather gear is essential as you never know what to expect! Light layers are good, especially if using public transport as although it can be freezing in Winter at the bus stops, it is usually boiling in the Underground. By the same token, in the Summer you can never be sure that the heatwave will last the day! Always bring a jumper and waterproof jacket no matter what time of year, just in case! Comfortable walking shoes or trainers are also a must as Central London is not a place to be when your feet hurt!
Everything is available at Boots the Chemist, Superdrug or smaller independent pharmacies. You will only need to bring your own prescription medicine.
Don't forget your charger for your camera battery. Leave a Comment
