In the winter London is mildely cold and farily hot in the summer but hardly over 80 degrees. However it does rain a lot in London, so a light rain coat or an umbrella might be a good idea!
The best time to visit is in the Spring or Fall where it is not as insainly busy and the prices for accommodations are considerably lower! Leave a Comment

Since we were there only for a few days for the purpose of attending a wedding, we each took a backpack & a large duffel bag (mine was on wheels, which made it easier to wheel about through the underground & on the streets). We took the tube from Heathrow directly into Hyde Park Corner station, which was only a few blocks from where we were staying in Mayfair. On crowded trains & in crowded airports, less luggage is always best.
A rainjacket is a requirement in London. We traveled in late May & the weather was cool/chilly at night & cool w/light showers or rain during the day. A light sweater is a good idea, as well. Denim was frowned upon in the club where we were staying (it was Mayfair after all), so I packed khakis, black slacks, & travel pants (Tencel is a wonderful fabric!). Shoes: comfortable shoes are a must if you don't want blisters! I wore my well-worn Doc Martens boots while wandering through London... a good thing too because the sidewalks were wet in many places. Before this trip, I bought a pair of Smartwool socks from the local outdoor/hiking store for $13.99 (!!). Those are the most comfortable pair of socks EVER! The salesclerk was right... I'm going back for more.
Wet Ones & antibacterial hand-goo. Other than your own personal medical needs, there seemed to be a pharmacy every few blocks or so if you forget toothpaste, shampoo, etc. Leave a Comment

1 large and 1 small backpack
I was there on mid-december and it was around 5 Celcius. The air is very humid. I wore a light raincoat with a wool shirt underneath it. It was just fine because I walked a lot. I suggest good walking shoes.
It's easy to get films for your camera. I would recommend a small tripod because London is so great at night that you'll want to get a picture of at least Big Ben or the Tower Bridge which is almost impossible without a tripod. Leave a Comment

Spring's approximately from March to May, though winter often seems to stretch well beyond February. March winds and April showers may turn up either a month early or a month late. May is generally pleasant. Summer ñ June, July and August ñ can be unpredictable, with high heat one day followed by greyness and thunderstorms the next. Fall starts in September, although the weather can be mild and summery. Then the cold sets in and November hits and on December, January and February are generally pretty chilly in London, although snow is rare. Just prepare yourself for the unpredictability of the British climate. For some guidance try Weathercall on 0891 500401 (50p per minute at all times). Leave a Comment
