Adiva is not a Diva at all. In fact this is a cracking restaurant. I booked a reservation with them on Top Table and had a great meal. I was warmly greeted, had perfect service and a tasty meal – all at a very good price.
The real secret is to bring your own booze. Adiva is not ‘licensed’, but you can bring in your own alcohol. The corkage fee is a nominal £1.50 for a bottle of wine/spirits or 50p per beer. This includes them providing glasses, refrigeration and ice as needed! If you enjoy wine with your meal you can do so and save a load of money by picking up a bottle of wine from the grocery store before you go. Combined with their economical set menus you can enjoy plenty to drink and eat for under £25 in central London. A good deal indeed.
Adiva calls itself a rare Lebanese and Turkish Restaurant and their varied menu has some good dishes to choose from. Their food is mildly spiced, which many people prefer, but you may want to ask for extra seasoning and/or hot sauce. Having set that the real deal is their 5 set menus. 3 meat oriented mezzes and 2 vegetarian. I enjoyed the top priced set menu 3 and for just £16.95 I received all of the following:
Hommous - pureed chick peas with tahini, lemon, garlic and olive oil
Cacik - Yogurt mixed with cucumber, lime juice, mint, garlic and olive oil
Tabouleh - Lebanese salad and crushed wheat
Sambousek Lahme - Golden pastry parcels filled with minced lamb & pine nuts
Sambousek Taouk - Golden pastry parcels filled chicken and leek
Falafel - with a mixture of chickpeas, herbs and cumin
Mixed Grill – a large selection of grilled meats
• Served with salad and rice
• Olives (delicious!) and warm bread are complementary
The set meals have selections within the meals. You just can’t go wrong with this restaurant. All meat is Halal and they also offer free delivery within a 3 mile radius. Like I said, you can’t go wrong with this restaurant. Check out their link below for more on their impressive menu.
