The Albert: Good Food Served Fast
This is a grand old British pub, and very popular with both tourists and locals. We were told that members of Parliament often eat here as the Houses of Parliament are nearby. The decor includes an ornate staircase, a large polished mahogany bar, and large etched and cut glass windows which allow the sun to flood in.
We stopped for lunch in the middle of a busy day of touring, and the place was packed. Still, with a buffet, we were served quickly. It was crowded and noisy, and people at the table next to us were smoking which we found very unpleasant. Still, the food was good, the decor was lovely, and we would certainly eat there again.
The Albert Restaurant: Warm, hearty food for a cold, wet day
We visited this restaurant for lunch when we took a one day tour of London. Its in walking distance from Buckingham Palace and gives visitors the opportunity to eat traditional English food in a historic pub.
Favorite Dish: My husband and I both had the shepherds pie and it was absolutely delicious. We both wanted more when we finished.
