Albion is a great looking café/restaurant/shop connected to the new Boundary Hotel in Shoreditch. It has a gourmet food shop at the front, and a bright and welcoming dining area at the rear with an open kitchen.
Arriving at Albion on a Sunday at midday I was happily surprised to see only a very short queue for tables, which cleared almost immediately. We were handed breakfast menus (it seemed that lunch service began at 1pm) which was fine by us.
Favorite Dish: Kelly ordered Poached Eggs on toast (the eggs were slightly overcooked), and I had the Albion Breakfast, which came with eggs, bacon (streaky or back), baked beans, roasted tomato, sausage, mushrooms, and black pudding. I threw the black pudding and sausage Kelly's direction, and shoved the mushrooms (which I had asked not to be included) to the side.
The food was really tasty, the atmosphere good, and I am keen to return to try their lunch menu.... and perhaps one of those big cupcakes they were selling in the shop.
