Not only is Ciao's interior pleasantly lit and comfortable, with decent pop music playing in the background, the waitstaff is terrific. I've been there a handful of times now and am recognized by the same wonderful waitress I always get.
They have over 20 flavors of gelato and ice cream, as well as the most scrumptious-looking menu. It features pages and pages of well-photographed ice cream creations, all of which come to your table looking exactly like they do in the menu. Even the loo is nice.
Favorite Dish: (Italian named) chocolate cake with Stracciatella ice cream on the side - the perfect blend of warm and cold. You can order any of the flavors with any of the pastries.
Lasagne - yes, it really does resemble (ice cream and berries) lasagne. If you're in the mood for something fruity but with a hefty amount of vanilla, this will do perfectly. I licked the plate.
After Eight - mint ice cream, chocolate ice cream, syrups and chocolate shavings, complete with a mint wafer. Good to end on for that minty taste.
Gelato designed to look like real food. This I can dig. Steak, ham & eggs, and all sorts of stuff made entirely out of gelato. It's fun just looking at the menu.
Favorite Dish: I can enjoy myself with a cup of gelato and a chance to peruse the menu for a while. That's plenty of fun for me.
