Chez Gerard: Covent Garden fine food
Opposite The Royal Opera House on the South East side of Covent Garden, the entrance to this place can be easily missed but is worth searching for. The eating area covers most of the floorspace but there is a bar that has a good cocktail list. There is a terrace in use throughout the Summer months for some al fresco dining whilst listening to the classical buskers down below.
Spent New Year 98 in here and had a good laugh.
Favorite Dish: Last at in here about 2001 and tried the frogs legs that were a lot nicer than expected.

Chez Gerard: Good food, easy atmosphere, just pleasant
The Covent Garden branch has a good view over the Piazza, is handy for the Opera House, and is a comfortable place to eat. There is a great atmosphere here. The one at Tower Hill also very pleasant but more business people oriented.
Favorite Dish: Before I stopped eating meat: steak tartare. Now I enjoy the fish! The Coupe Colonel is a serious dessert.

Excellent service and wonderful food. There are eight of these restaurants in London but I would definately recommend Roseberry Avenue because of the extra attention to detail.
Expect to pay £25-40pp excluding wine.
Favorite Dish: Steak Frites is a great choice, but the Menu is strong with high quality fare.
