Crazy Bear - Fitzrovia: Great Deals available

by gabriellefox Written Nov 25, 2013

Crazy Bear Fitzrovia is perfectly positioned to appeal to an extravagant trendy crowd who will enjoy the dimly lit bar and "secret" toilets. (The bar’s heavily mirrored basement toilets can be difficult to find).

It is within an easy walk of Goodge Street tube station and is about a 100 yards down Whitfield Street.

The restaurant menu is eclectic and is drawn from Thailand, Japan and China. It ranges from familiar maki rolls and shrimp crackers to inventive chargrilled lamb cutlets with French beans, Impressively, the Crazy Bear Group’s own farm in Oxfordshire provides Gloucestershire Old Spot pork and Welsh Badger Face lamb.

The cocktails are elegantly constructed and served with care. I can recommend the "Baby Bear" a house speciality. Bar smacks are available but are pricey.

Favorite Dish: We went for the 12 course tasting menu and everything was absolutely gorgeous.

The Craven Cafe: When you're craven for a meal....

.. and it's not called the Craven Cafe coz by the tie you get there you are craven a good meal!!!
We were hunting high and low for a cheap meal, and that was one under 10 pounds. It is hard to find. Anyhow we came across this little cafe and it was great. Really nice ambience, although it is rather small. And how come the UK doesn't have laws to ban smoking in restaurants?? In Australia you havn't been able to do that for years!!! Great conversation with the owner's brother, seemed to know a lot about Australia. I guess they get a few in there.

Favorite Dish: I had a pasta dish and hubby fish and chips - not very Italian. But they don't just do Italian.
