The Gate Clock Pub in Greenwich is one of the Wetherspoon chain and is okay as pub food goes. We stopped in for lunch and found the food only a little above average. The place is attractive enough and certainly well located if you are exploring Greenwich. I had cottage pie with mashed potatoes which were pretty good and chips which were also pretty good and undercooked frozen peas. These were not the traditional "mushy peas" but tasted like they had come from the freezer, blanched and put on my plate. Also I still don't know why you get two kinds of potatoes with any meal. My wife had the fish and chips which were also pretty good. She had tea and I tried a Bridge bitter ale which I found too bitter for my taste. The service was good and the price reasonable. We paid just 9.07 GBP in total.
