Haz was an accidental but very happy discovery for me, as it serves delicious Turkish cuisine that reminded me of my visit to Istanbul 6 months ago (it is now July 2013). Though I cannot say that food here is as good as in the native country (is it ever?), the elegant restaurant does prepare authentic Turkish dishes similar to those I've tasted in Istanbul. I stumbled upon the one on Mincing Lane by chance while walking in the City of London one evening. Apparently, it has several branches, though they all are scattered around this part of London. The location of the different Haz branches is perhaps the only drawback, as it is in the heart of the financial district, where one typically has no reason to venture past business hours.
This large and well lit restaurant is only a few minutes from Liverpool Street Station. If you want a romantic dinner by candlelight then this place is not for you. It does however offer excellent Turkish cuisine and the prices are really good. There re a couple of set menus and A la carte is also available.
Ther service is second to none. All the staff are very attentive from the second you walk in.
Favorite Dish: I had the humous to start and then I had Iskender which is amixed grill with yoghurt.
An real delight. The restaurant has a basic layout, but the food and service are excellent. A place that people just keep returning to. Haz offers great value for money and a chance to try some Turkish/Middle Eastern dishes. The only negative is if there are smokers on a nearby table.
