The King's Arm
The King's Arm was the venue for a lovely little VT meeting when I was in London on a Sunday afternoon in February 2007. The location was well chosen by the famous London VT member sue_stone. We were about 10 members and enjoyed a tasty lunch and interesting chats including the latest VT gossip.
The interior of the pub is a good mixture of wooden tables and comfy settees. They even have the latest sport events on the big screen.
For lunch I opted for the Roast Duck Breast with roast sweet potatoes and washed it down with an Australian red wine. The meal was delicious and reasonable priced.

The King's Arms: The King's Arms - Gastro Pub near London Bridge
VT member HORSCHECK was visiting London from Germany, so a small meeting was arranged in his honour. The meeting started at a gastro pub called The King's Arms where we had lunch. The pub is located about a 10 minute walk from London Bridge, quite close to Tower Bridge.
The King's Arms is a great looking place. The interior looks very comfortable with a mix of old leather sofas and mix-matched tables and chairs. A great place for lunch on a winters day. Service was a bit slow, they appeared to be short staffed, though we weren't in that much of a hurry so it didn't matter.
Our VT group sat at a table along the left-hand wall. The seats were great....until the rugby came on and suddenly the game was blasted out from a speaker pointing right at our table! Oh well, the game only went for an hour or so.
Favorite Dish: The food was really tasty - everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I had the Roast Duck Breast with roast sweet potato, beans and red wine jus - it was delicious! Others had the Mushroom Risotto, the Venison Steak and the Sausages & Mash.
We were a little disappointed that the desserts on the menu were not available....I was really craving that Chocolate pudding....oh well, had to have another drink instead ; )

Kings Arms: Kings Arms
Kings Arms is a pub about 5 min. walk from the Tower Bridge south of the river. It isn't a typical London pub and doesn't feel like it belongs in London, but still has a great atmosphere. It is crowded and tough to get a table, but it is worth the wait to get a burger from here. I never thought I would pay the equivalent of US $17 for a burger, but I didn't care about the price after eating it.
Favorite Dish: There is a good selection of about 5 burgers. I had the egg burger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The meat was juicy and the burger was huge. There was also something about the bread that really added to the taste.
If the burger isn't enough to satisfy anyone, the chips are great, too.
