Neals Yard Salad Bar offers a variety of salads, vegan and vegetarian hot main courses, a daily soup, appetizers, quiches, pizzas, burgers not to mention the totally natural fruit juices
The freshly squeezed juices are divine & full of vitamins. They also have an array of muffins & cakes - healthy ones mind
You can eat inside or outside in this delightful courtyard dedicated to healthy lifestyle practice as they have the Walk in Back rub situated here & Neal's Yard remedies health shop.
You don't have to be a vegan, a vegetarian or someone looking for wholesome, healthy food to get a real kick out of coming to the Neal's Yard Salad Bar. This place is much more than just another London restaurant - the Salad Bar is just one part of a precinct devoted to good food, good vibes and good health. From the moment you walk into the square, with its vividly painted walls and eclectic mix of shops, you know you know you've come to a unique little corner of London. Come on a sunny day and sit at one of the outside tables that fill the little square and you'll soon have a smile on your face and forget the crowds and hustle just around the corner.
Despite the name, it's not just salads they serve - vegan and vegetarian hot dishes, super soups, quiches, pizzas, burgers and snacks are all on the menu along with the best fruit juice combos in town.
As well as the outdoor tables, there are two indoor areas and a Take Away bar - and there are plenty of spots around the Yard where you can perch yourself to eat the goodies you'll find there.
I have heard people say that the service can be a bit iffy - I've never found it so - and that prices are a bit steep. Well, this is London and nothing's cheap here!
Favorite Dish:
The food is an interesting eclectic mix here, with more than a nod towards Brazil - Brazilian cheese bread is a constant favourite. Everything is marked to indicate whether it is Vegetarian, Vegan or Gluten-free ... and there are a couple of non-vegetarian dishes for those who really cannot do without their meat.
The menu changes constantly so naming favourites may not be much help, but the zucchini, cheese and corn fritters I had there on my last visit were just great and my daughter, MissL, swears by their vegeburgers.
I chanced upon the World Food Café on a recent visit to London when a good friend of mine brought my to Neal’s Yard and now always make an effort to come back when I’m in the area. The menu is impressive, though predominantly vegetarian, covering everything from African to Mexican and then some. It’s reasonably priced for this part of town too, meaning that you won’t have to mortgage your house to grab some dinner. There’s generally a funky soundtrack playing and much of the food is prepared right in front of you. It radiates a cool, stylish vibe without being overly pretentious, something often seriously lacking in parts of this town.
