Dinner at Pizza Express by sue_stone Pizza Express is a chain of pizza restaurants that seem to be on every corner in London. They all have identical menu's but each has a unique and interesting restaurant fit out. We have been to several different branches and always found the food tasty and service generally good. This is the type of place to dine if you need a quick pre-concert/theatre meal, as service is always fast and the food comes very quickly.
The menu consists mainly of pizzas, with a few pasta and salad options as well. I always have pizza, and often make up my own toppings - I will order the Margherita, which just has Mozzarella and tomato, and then add whatever takes my fancy, such as chicken & sun dried tomatoes, or tuna & goats cheese. Alex's favourite is the Sloppy Giuseppe pizza, which has hot spiced beef, green peppers and onions. Their desserts are edible, but not really worth the extra calories. The wine list has a basic range of Italian wines, and we have often found the house wines to be better than the more expensive options. Leave a Comment

Pizza Express by Dabs Last visit August 2008 Let me start by saying that I eat a lot of pizza, not only at home in Chicago, but also virtually every place we travel to. The pizzas at Pizza Express are never the most memorable that I've tried but are usually satisfying and much better than the mostly dough pizzas we've had at other places in London. I've eaten at Pizza Express several times and the experience has ranged from very good (York, Greenwich) to just OK (Piccadilly Circus) to disappointing (Baker Street). My most recent visit to the location on Baker Street in August 2008 was disappointing, the pizzas seem to have gotten smaller and the toppings very sparse. The location at 133 Baker Street has an al fresco dining section but I think the location is a bit too noisy for outside dining being on the busy corner of Marylebone Road and Baker Street. Plus it was raining on this visit so we headed inside. Service is never an issue at Pizza Express, the food comes out fast and the wait staff attentive.
Most of the pizzas offered have nontraditional ingredients such as asparagus, artichokes or eggs so I opted for the American with pepperoni sausage, mozzarella and tomato. The pizzas are thin crust, baked in a wood oven. They used to be larger, big enough that I couldn't finish but the last one was smaller and I finished it. If you want a larger pizza, the Roma pizzas are bigger. Leave a Comment

Pizza Express is an upscale, gourmet pizza chain. I've been to 3-4 different locations in London and the food is consistent. The Dean Street location is great, and offers a Jazz Club downstairs. The atmosphere is upbeat and trendy. The pizzas are thin crust and there is quite a variety. One note- the only beer they serve is Peroni!
Cajun Pizza- CAJUN prawns, red peppers, onions, tabasco pepper sauce, mozzarella, tomato I put Tabasco on everything. So a pizza with built in Tabasco is my kind of pizza! Another favorite of mine is the MOZZARELLA & TOMATO SALAD which consists of slices of buffalo mozzarella and tomato with sun dried tomato. For dessert? Pear Tart! Worth the wait! by londonlover We had lunch one Sunday afternoon at the Pizza Express off of Trafalgar Square. A fantastic selection of pizzas, and mine (goats cheese and sundried tomatoes) was fantastic. However, just be aware that it is a sit-down restaurant with average waiting times. I was under the impression it was nearly fast-food service based on the name, so I was a little surprised at the 20-minute wait for the meal. However, as long as you allow enough time, it's definitely worth the wait.
The goats cheese and sundried tomato pizza. All of their pizzas are thin-crust, and, like all other pizzas I saw in the UK, are not pre-cut into slices as they almost always are in the States, so keep your knife handy! Leave a Comment

This is a chain Italian restaurant and the do fairly decent pizza & pasta dishes. Start your meal with yummy dough balls dipped in garlic butter or perhpas Aranchini (rissoto balls deep fried). Then either select a pizza dish priced between GBP6 - 8 or perhaps a pasta dish (more limited choices) around GBP7 otherwise they do a great salad with strips of garlic bread for GBP7-8. In the picture you can see I had a salad very healthy indeed!! never mind the dressing :-) which can be on the side The restaurant always has a nice atmosphere and looks very appealing with white and blue tablecloths.
There is almost always a pizza express close at hand but check the website for the exact street details Leave a Comment

Pizza Express, Kings Road, Chelsea by phil_uk_net Pizza Express is a chain but is a good place to eat nonetheless. Despite being a chain they are located in interesting buildings such as this one in the King Road, Chelsea. Their pizzas are very good and many of their restaurants have live jazz on certain evenings.

Not the Pizza but a nice plate! by ChrsStrl This chain do a reasonable pizza and are located in just the right places where you need a break half way through site-seeing or just before the cinema/ theatre with little time. The service is always good and there is a pleasant atmosphere in them. Very professionally run.
The Caprina with extra jalopenos and anchovies (it's an acquired taste!) Maureen loves the Veneziana. A lovely one in the Kings Road. Don't like the one near the National Theatre - too large, too many children.

Pizza Express by Helga67 If you fancy pizza in an extraordinary interior, go to the Pizza Express in Bloomsbury. This restaurant was established in 1967 and was the second Pizza Express that opened its doors. The building dates back to 1881 and was originally a dairy, trading under the name ' Dairy Supply Company'. The tiles on the walls are the original ones from the dairy, and many of its features date back to 1967, which gives this restaurant a unique identity. It is only two minutes away from the British Museum. For over 20 years live classical music has been played every Monday night.
