If, like me, visiting cities makes you pine for trees, it is nice to spend some time in a park, for a change. Russell Square garden is within easy reach of the British Museum, and has a handy cafe where you can have lunch sitting outside (or inside if wet!) and enjoy the view.
They do a range of dishes including 'all day breakfast', pasta, pizza, salads, hot and cold sandwiches and cakes.
Favorite Dish: The food is OK, though nothing special - I would say that the reason for going there is the location. I have had salads which were fine, and a panini which was tasty, but not quite toasted enough. I haven't tried the cakes and pastries, but they look appealing.
A toasted panini and a hot drink costs about £5.50, hot dishes would be £6-7 and upwards.
For hot drinks, their coffee isn't at all bad, but the tea is not very good. Unusually, they keep a large pot on the go, rather than making fresh for each customer, so if you are unlucky in your timing, it might be a bit stewed.
