S & M Café: S & M Café - in Ladbroke Grove
S&M is a small chain of traditional British cafes which serve up classic comfort food in retro surroundings. We had lunch one Sunday at the Ladbroke Grove branch and enjoyed the experience.
S&M stands for 'Sausage & Mash', and there is a big selection of offer - you can choose from around 12 varieties of sausage, then choose the type of mash you would like, add a gravy and then any vegetables. Apart from this they do various breakfasts items, salads, and some very tasty sounding pies.
Favorite Dish: Our group ordered the Lamb & mint sausage salad, the Eggs Benedict, Venison sausages with various accompaniments, and a Fish finger buttie. All dishes were happily polished off, with the sausages getting a big thumbs up.

S & M Cafe: S & M
You do need to don rubber and go whips and handcuffs in arm...although you can if you want to! S&M is simply sausage and mash
This is kitsch kingdom - the pictures on the walls, the plastic tables and chairs... and it's great. But it's not entirely tacky - many a business meeting happens here... alongside a family whose kids are happily munching their way through bangers!
There is a whole menu of different sausages, different variations on mashed potatoes & gravies.... and for us vegetarians - oh, yes sir, we are well catered for with several lovely varieties.
If there is a group of hungry people you can order a Desperate Dan which is a MASSIVE dish full of sausages and mashed potatoes... and the sausages come with little flags so you know your sun dried tomatoe sausages from you wild boar with berries!
Relaxed atmosphere, very chilled.
Great value too.
Favorite Dish: yum yum - all the vegetarian varieties!

Sausage & Mash Cafe: Don't miss the brilliant Sausages and Mash!
If you like Sausages and Mash then this is the place for you.
Simple surroundings, friendly staff.
This IS the place for lunch before hitting the market!
Favorite Dish: Obviously sausage and mash make up the majority of the menu but there’s also soups and salads for anyone not tempted by the meat and potatoes option. Sausage specials include wild boar with calvados and apples or the scrumptious vegetarian blue cheese with pepper and onions coated in breadcrumbs – all served with a choice of mash and gravy (the citrus sauce is divine).
Two sausages and mash is £5.75, while the really hungry can go for the three sausage option at £7.
Sausage and Mash Cafe: Mish Mash
What is more English than famous Bangers and Mash. Sausage and Mash Cafe serves
specialty sausage and mash. Their sausages are made to the very highest standards containing only the best cuts of meat and freshly blended seasoning, they also have a vegetarian selection for the non carniverous. Very delectable, very delicious. Gravy, mash and sausage. Yummo!!!
Favorite Dish: Since its its specialty, the bangers and Mash of course.
S&M cafe, Portobello branch: Closed.
Whilst recently updating and editing some London tips I came upon his one. As far as I aware the entire chain of Sausage and Mash restaurants has now gone out of business and closed. There is considerable internet evidence to support this.
I provide this information to avoid readers potentially visiting a closed establishment due to out of date information.
