Visited here for lunch, after meeting up with a friend who lives in London. The restaurant is well hidden but is in fact just off Oxford Street.Next to Selfridges there is a narrow alleyway, follow this and you will come to some smart shops and a bit further on is the restaurant.
You have a choice of sitting outside (with heaters in winter) or inside.Although the restaurant was busy we found the service and food good .Prices were reasonable and you could have a main course and a glass of wine for £12.
Favorite Dish: Scottish beef goulash- tender beef and full of flavour.
Sofra is a Turkish restaurant that serves delicious Turkish dishes, drinks and a selection of desert!
The interior is warm and relaxing with scented candles on each table which could easily put you in the "mood". We were provided with Humus, black & green olives in herbs & bread almost as soon as we sat down. The waitor who served us were extremely friendly and chatty - we became buddies within minutes! We didn't have to wait long for the food to come in which surprised us, considering that the place was 3/4 full.
Cause we were so utterly friendly to one of the waitor (who we assumed could be the supervisor), he happily let us sample a selection of Turkish sweets/deserts... for FREE!
The food is most exquisite, the menu will satisfy both vegetarians and meat eaters. It was a very enjoyable meal and I would recommend it highly to anyone.

Sofra in St Christophers Place is lovely Turkish restaurant with a great atmosphere. There are plenty of tables inside and outside, with heated lamps in the winter to keep you warm. If you are looking for a romantic evening out or plenty of people watching St Christophers Place is generally the place to go. There so many cafe's and restaurants here to choose from you can't go far wrong by coming here for a night out.
Favorite Dish: Lamb Tagine
It's really cramp inside the restaurant in the evening but it's quite alright during day time. It's full of locals who likes good food. The ambience is certainly nice, although it's overcrowded at times. Waiters treat you well and food are served rather quickly though. They put chairs and tables outside during the Summer, so it's nice to sit with one of those big heaters beside you.
Favorite Dish: Almost everything that's got lamb.
One day we decided to go to the restaurant and wanted to try what we haven't before. So... Turkish meal... I've tried traditional dish from meat and it was really delicious! Wine is really good there. Nice and cosy atmosphere.
