Small and delicious turkish pizza's: Tas Pide

The authentic Anatolian kitchen (Turkey) with it's traditional Pizza oven makes very nice dishes. They use fresh products and make very tastful dishes. The service was good and very quick.

Favorite Dish: I had a small pizza, which was big enough for my lunch. I also tasted a starter with beans and yoghurt dressing which was a very light dish.

    Tas Restaurant: Turkish Delightful

by Radiomom Written Jun 20, 2004

We read the menu, peered in the window, and since it was 9PM and we were starving, we took a chance. What a LUCKY chance it turned out. Tas is very inviting, visually, aromatically, and to your ears. It is bright and happy and offers something on the menu to satisfy and delight anyone, regardless of their dietary requirements or choices. Being a Saturday night, there was even live music...a very good classical/mideastern guitarist. Quite pleasing to the ear! Plus we hadn't eaten in a Turkish restaurant before so Bingo-Bobs-your-uncle, it was our choice for our only dinner in London this trip. It was also about 2 blocks from where the London Pub Walk we'd taken ended, and not far from London Bridge Tube stop.

Favorite Dish: Everything was good. We went with hot starters because it was a chilly, drizzely night. But from the menu, the cold starters also looked good. We had fried Kalimari in walnut sauce, and fried mussels on a skewer in a garlic sauce. I adore mussels and this was a new way (for me) to have them. I had a wonderful spinach and orange salad, and for the main course, a special lamb shank they were offering that night. Steve had one of their special casseroles that was equally tasty. Along with a nice bottle of 2002 Syrah Mourvedre (red wine) we considered this a perfect meal for our "one night stand" in London. Considering the expensive choices for a nice dinner out in London, this was probably a very good deal as it came to less than $85US when the credit card bill arrived back home.

For those who like eastern cuisine.....
Turkish atmosphere where the service is impeccable and the hospitality warm and friendly. Tas is the traditional Anatolian cooling pot used to prepare the finest dishes which are produced with the freshest organic products such as grains herbs spices and especially sourced imported ingredients. During the evening you will be entertained by musicians playing live Turkish Music.
Very tasty, wholesome food at reasonable prices... You will have an enjoyable and memorable meal!
    Good choice of vegetarian meals...
    Especially romantic in the evening.
