The Restaurant in the Tate Modern is on the 7th floor of the building, and if you are lucky enough to get a window seat, you have a panoramic view over the River Thames and London landmarks.
There is also a bar, and you can just sit and have a cofee.
prices are about average for London, service was good, but it was the view that made it memorable.
The picture shows the view I had while eating lunch -
There is a cafe on the ground floor of the Tate.
Our last day in London, we visited the Tate Museum as we'd missed it on our last trip. The museum is nice, but we were totally impressed with the restaurant at the top. The views across the Thames are outstanding. I could spend hours up there!
Favorite Dish:
Well, mussels are my dish -- and for lunch I had lovely mussels with leeks and creme frais. Steve ordered a wonderful roast suckling pig sandwich! With a couple of beers and a bottle of water, we felt this lunch was a delightful send off for our vacation in Africa!
The restaurant at the top level of Tate Modern is only open for people who want to eat or drink. So sit down at the window, enjoy the great view over the Thames towards St. Pauls's Cathedral and have a drink or a small snack.
Favorite Dish:
I only had a drink but the food of the lady next to me looked and smelled very tempting. It was a bit expensive tho...
With sensational views over the Thames the Tate Modern has revolutionized coffee drinking in London by using Italian coffee and employing a qualified barista.
Favorite Dish:
Cappuccino in the Illy cup
