The White Horse is a stylish Gastro Pub located about 5 minutes walk from Richmond Station. It is a friendly, open-plan pub with a big non-smoking area. There is also outside seating at the rear, next to a large children's play area.
It is located in a residential area, though not too far from the High Street making it still popular during the week for business lunches. It is also very popular for Sunday lunch - bookings are a must.
Service is relaxed and friendly, the menu is varied and the food is good quality - not your average Pub Grub.
Favorite Dish:
We popped into The White Horse for lunch on Christmas Eve 2006. We had booked the day before and managed to get the last available table in the non-smoking area. The pub had a really festive feel about it and there were big tables of families and friends getting into the Christmas spirit.
We started with a beer whilst deciding what to eat. As a starter, Alex decided to have the Duck & pistachio pate in crust served with marinated mushrooms. I had a small taste and it was good - Alex enjoyed it and thought it was a generous sized serve.
For main course Alex had the Goose magret with roast potatoes, French beans and a raspberry sauce and I have the 'Sunday Feast' which consisted of Roast beef and turkey with roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and several other vegetables. Both meals were delicious and really filling - we didn't have room for dessert :-/
I really like The White Horse and I am sure we will be back again one day.
