Camden Market, London
Camden is a great vibrant area of London and has four main markets. They cater for those individuals who do not want to buy from the big retail chains, and particularly for those whose idea of fasion is individuality.
Virtually Everything is on Sale at
"Camden Market", it also has a feeling of being hip and young, as the market goes with the ages. Its a great place for everyone to go and purchase.......anything!!.
Also another market is the
Portobello Road Market, its a bit more expensive, but here you can find fruit and vegs, antiques and collectables. WORTH A VISIT ASWELL!!!
What to buy: Whatever you want
What to pay: Prices Vary, and this is a market, so it wouldnt be very expensive. Since this is a market dont forget to haggle!.
Camden Market is a very popular venue offering clothing, jewellery, music and much more, seemingly targeting a more youthful audience, or even just the young at heart. You can pick up very fashionable items at uber cheap prices, and much fun can be had bartering with the stall owners. I usually manage to get a price on the already cheap band t-shirts by buying in bulk and striking up a deal with the retailer. You won't find too much brand name or high life fashion here, just funky clothes and accessories at even funkier prices!
In camden market and high street you can buy just about any fastion that you might desire, from Gothic to funky clubbing, so is alway worth having a wander round.
What to buy: Gothic, hippy clothing always good, also leather jackets and boots.
What to pay: Like most markets dont pay the ticket price, always try and haggle the traders down, if they wont budge have a look around before buying as you will always find things cheaper
the market is a spectacle in itself, but the best shops are located inside the bridge in the vicinity of the cyberdog store. it's a great place to get all your subcultural accoutrements, but i found most of the clothes rather weak--the same cheap yet overpriced knock-off brands repeated over and over again and found everywhere in the city. it was refreshing to find many stalls offering the latest japanese street fashions, but the average european or american woman is too stocky and large for them.
What to buy: the most killer deals are the doc marten shoe stalls, where you can pick up wacky and obscure styles of this line for £10-20. cheap and garish accessories are also nice.
What to pay: most clothes are priced under £40, but the quality is so awful that i find this too high.
The area of Camden Town is full of funky shops and interesting markets where you can buy all kinds fo things. Items sold everywhere include funky shoes and clothes and music.
