 | London Clothes Reviews | Tips 31 - 40 of 141 | | OK this isn't the hip hang out it used to be in the 60s though there is still a great (hugely expensive) cowboy boot place. Instead, it has a range of quirky, very high quality shops amidst the usual clothes chains and Marks and Spencer. The main department store, facing Sloane Square tube, is Peter Jones, part of the John Lewis chain of stores. It's famous as the place where you simply *must* have your wedding list. You can buy pretty much anything there, but they have an especially good range of bed linen. Opposite Peter Jones is a smart new shopping complex on the site of a former army barracks. Mostly chain clothes shops, there are a few smaller niche-y boutiques such as Pantelon Chameleon - great trousers! There's a nice courtyard at the far end, with a gelateria and fountains built into the pavement. As you wander down the street, there are plenty of cafes and little snack bars if all that window shopping makes you hungry. And if you are a chocoholic like me, Rococo Chocolates is my ABSOLUTE favourite shop :-)))) That's quite a way down, at no. 321. Now you have an even better reason to indulge as they're raising money for Grenada, to help restore the island after Hurricane Ivan. Do buy some chocolate lips and nipples. At any stage, hang a left down a side street, marvel at the multi-million pound houses, and you will soon come to the Thames - Chelsea Embankment is usually an interesting walk, unless the weather is bad. Jermyn Street represents something from a bygone age. This is the place to buy handmade suits and shirts - at a price. Expensive but there are still lots of people around who can afford it. There is also an old-fashioned barber shop with all kinds of fancy shaving gear and lotions. ----- Note - the blue plaque next to the shop in the photo is a common sight in London. It indicates that someone famous once lived at that location. They are everywhere. This one tells us that Isaac Newton lived here from 1642 - 1727.

I noticed recently that the logo of the London Underground is going to be franchised to various clothing manufacturers. Odd really, if you want to have clothing with the logo on, why not just apply for a job with London Transport and get it for free ? After all you need only work an hour or two and then scive off (much like most of their employees)
Sourbugger wonders what items would be appropriate for the brand ? Perhaps a 'boob tube' or fishnet tights using the tube map ? (careful Sourbugger, don't get carried away this is a family website - G) Leave a Comment Theme: Other

There seems to be many ways that a business will avoid the word 'secondhand', it sound so cheap doesn't it ? 'Previously owned', 'New to you', 'As new' and many other euphanisms come to mind. In Camden's markets you will find many shops that are basically selling secondhand clothes. Most off the stuff is however good quality and well above the 'jumble sale' piles of tat. Here you may well get designer gear for a fraction of the original price, and if your interest is in way out, outlandish clothes then you could spend days here. Whilst it is unfair to single ant particular shop out, the one listed above seems to have a very wide selection of stuff. Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesAddress: Arch, 48, The Stables Market. There are so many brand-name boutiques sited at Bluewater, Essex, the largest shopping complex in Greater London. Lakeside Thurrock is another one, though not as large. These places are ideal to come to during the sales (eg Post-Christmas, Easter), etc, if you already have a shopping list, and have done some groundwork (research on styles, prices).

If you want to do some shopping in London, Oxford Street is the place to be. If you do not find whatever you need, along this 2,5 kilometres long shopping road, you won't find it anywhere. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: OxfordstreetDirections: Subway : Marble Arch, Bond street

During the 1960s Carnaby Street was at the centre of Swinging London - Mini skirts popularized by Mary Quant were the thing. Since then it has caters more to tourists than the fashionable but it is enjoying a revival. Some of the shops are Animal, American Apparel, Bailey, and Ben Sherman. Sometimes a girl has to treat herself and go for something a bit different and special, for this I usually head down to places like Seven Dials. On my way there from Leicester Square recently, I noticed a new boutique on Upper St Martin’s Lane which leads onto Monmouth and Shelton Street (border of Seven Dials). I nearly missed it as there aren’t any shops directly next to it and it’s partially obscured by 2 giant pillars. But miss it I didn’t and am I glad! This boutique is a real little gem. There are really unusual pieces that you wouldn’t find on the high street like dresses that you can also wear as a top with jeans, embroidered vest tops and silk skirts. They also sell great accessories and things for your home as well. I bought 2 things, a really luxurious wool scarf with crochet roses and a silk skirt with a satin bow. Prices are reasonable especially considering that everything is limited or exclusive and comes beautifully packaged. The level of service is exactly how I like it; the staff acknowledge your presence with a hello or smile and leave you to browse, but are very helpful if you as for their assistance – all in all a great boutique that I would highly recommend to anyone

Regent Street is one of the premier shopping streets in London, home to a number of designer clothing stores, including Burberry, Austin Reed, Hugo Boss and Aquascutum. Some high street stores are here too, e.g. Zara and Uniqlo. There is a pleasant cafe (Cafe Mozart) near the Piccadilly Circus end.

Sourbugger never has or never will have any urge to dress in a way that looks like death warmed up. They say Black is the new Black, but believe me it has never been OUT of fashion around here. The place sell tons of clothing for those who wish to make such a statement, along with hair care stuff, fangs, wings, wigs jewllery and gothic gifts. They also sell PVC club Wear, but don't get me started on that subject again or i'll end up dribbling (again)
Don't ask me I'm far too conventional Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesAddress: camden lockPhone: 02074851138Directions: camden lockcanal market camden high street London NW1 8JXWebsite: www.afterdarkfashions.co.uk
