by PALLINA Noisy and touristy, I cannot say I liked it. The atmosphere is lovely but actually I cound not say they sell something unique; I had the impression you could find the same stuff in every 2à hand market on every European capital. Well, I am happy I've gone there but I am not sure I will come back againg. Leave a Comment

Portobello Market by mary2u99 Its mostly junks that what my friends said when I told them I want to go to Portobello Market. He said it look like someone cleared their junk out of their attic and come here to sell it.
There are some nice antiques, collectibles and the t-shirts are quite nice.

Its open seven days a week from 10:00am - about 6:00pm and its closed on Christmas day. There are many type of food to sample and we went to this Moroccan restaurant to try the mint tea and sisha(water pipes strawberry flavoured).
From arts, crafts, cloths, accessries , food and furnishing. You can also get your palm read, and tatoo here. Almost anything from all over the world can be found here. I bought 2 paintings from this man from Kenya for 15pounds. He wanted more but .. I bargain and got the price I wanted. When I told my friend and he went to the same shop to buy the paintings the price was 25pounds. So I told the shop owner my friends like the painting I bought so that why he wanted to buy it and finally my friend got the same price as me.

Lewisham Market by Spincat This tip is aimed at those who are spending some time in South East London, or living locally, particularly if on a tight budget. There are great markets in London for tourists just here for a week or so, such as Columbia Road flower market, Borough, Camden or Portobello: this is more of a place for doing a weekly shop. Lewisham is primarily a fruit & vegetable market (nothing really special in the clothes line). The stalls set up each weekday at 8.30am, with the stall holders chatting, singing and laughing. Queues build up at the best stalls - look out for this. I've been given great tips on cooking unfamilar foods while waiting in queues! Some of the stalls sell very cheap products in 'scoops' but be wary - quality is variable. My favourite stall is the one pictured which is very frendly and sells great quality products aimed at Lewisham's diverse community: you can pick out what you want here, unlike some stalls where the best stuff is on display but not for sale. There are a couple of takeaway stalls at the market: a donut stall down - also a German hot-dog stand near the clock tower. Opposite the market is a traditional 'eel pie and mash' cafe and a great fabric shop called 'rolls & reams'. From time to time a group of French people set up here, selling fabulous cheeses, sausages & other deli products. Shops nearby: TFC (Turkish Food Centre) further on down the High Street - past the Central Library but before the swimming baths - sells a good range of vegetables and really great bread, pastries, borek, plus halva, nuts, olives, pulses, ayran, hummus, yoghurt, tinned specialities. Delicious. In the other direction, in Lewis Grove, just off the High Street, you'll find a really good, long-established Italian deli 'Gennaro': ham, cheese, pasta, sweets - really excellent. Further on round into Lee High Road you'll find more unusual food shops - I particularly recommend a new(ish) Polish supermarket, a little Sri Lankan shop and a smart chinese minimarket. There are lots of buses (185, 122, P4, 208 and many more). Docklands Light railway stops at Lewisham and is 5 minutes away, as is the overground station.

It's probably not the best market in London, but still, many people (including me !) go there. When you get out of the tube at "Camdem Town" Station you will find the first market called " Camdem Market". It is the worst part of it, mainly with stalls that sell all the same kind of ugly clothes... Then if you walk a bit more there is the "Camdem Canal Market" which is already a little better. There is good poster shop and various gothic or other bizzare clothing stores. If you continue on the street, you will arrive to the "Camdem Lock Market". It is a covered market and best part of it. You will find different crafts, vintage clothing, some antiques... and also various food options. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Tube : Camdem Town

This isn't a market in the strict sense of the word, although it certainly used to be. It is in the City of London, and is architecturally a beautiful structure. It is now given over to a number of small shop units, cafes and bars. As is to be expected form it's location, there aren't many bargains to be had, but it's a lovely place for a browse. The nearest Tube Station is Bank and the market is closed at the weekend, although the tube station is open if you just fancy a look. Leave a Comment

2° hand stuff by PALLINA I loved this place from the beginning. 2° hand clothes of good quality, 2° hand designers' bags, some food, some handmande jewelery, buscuits, vegetal body cream and Argentinian food vendor. GREAT. Everything in a small area between St Reagent Park and the absurd Madame Tusseaud. Unfortunately just on Saturday. Leave a Comment Theme: Women's Clothes

by vesna04 There are lots of markets in London. Be sure to visit Portobello, the largest antique market in the world. This picture is from Greenwich market, small but very classy.
You name it ! Leave a Comment Theme: Other
