The Great Court The British Museum

Great variety and quality of treasures with 4 million plus objects on display. See the Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon of Ancient Greece

    Lindow Man

This poor man was murdered aeons ago. He body was preserved in a bog and is now in the British Museum, apparently in the same uncomfortable position in which he died.

    The Stone---Rosetta, that is...

The great Rosetta Stone is here at the British Museum. One must not miss it. I almost did. If I didn't walk around at the gift shop, I would have forgotten...Oh my!

    Anglo-Saxon helmet

This is an Anglo-Saxon helmet, created sometime in the 7th century AD and recovered from a burial site. It is said to be very rare, as only four from that period still exist.

    Ramesses II

The museum has a very nice collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts. This enormous granite bust of Pharaoh Ramesses II was created around 1250BC and is over 2.6 m tall.

Amos at the the British Museum

British Museum is always a good reason to visit, try to be flexible with your plan, I used the pouring rainy day to visit the museum and other sunny days we could spend outside.

    The British Museum

Rumors that half of the museum is in ruins when Brendan Fraser battled Imhotep in The Mummy Returns are unfounded. Its most well-known possession is the Rosetta Stone.

The Most interesting things are the Mummies, Rosetta Stone and the Lindow man. Had I not been too an equally nice history museum in the past two months I would have enjoyed it more.
