The great Rosetta Stone is here at the British Museum. One must not miss it. I almost did. If I didn't walk around at the gift shop, I would have forgotten...Oh my!

This is an Anglo-Saxon helmet, created sometime in the 7th century AD and recovered from a burial site. It is said to be very rare, as only four from that period still exist.
The museum has a very nice collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts. This enormous granite bust of Pharaoh Ramesses II was created around 1250BC and is over 2.6 m tall.
British Museum is always a good reason to visit, try to be flexible with your plan, I used the pouring rainy day to visit the museum and other sunny days we could spend outside.
Rumors that half of the museum is in ruins when Brendan Fraser battled Imhotep in The Mummy Returns are unfounded. Its most well-known possession is the Rosetta Stone.
Take a whole day for this AWESOME place... Need I say anymore... O, you will realise how Britain has gathered (stolen) precious artifacts from all over the world. Best of all - ENTRANCE FREE!
An excellent collection of antiquities from all around the world. You could spend days here and it's free to get in. Donations are suggested.
The Most interesting things are the Mummies, Rosetta Stone and the Lindow man. Had I not been too an equally nice history museum in the past two months I would have enjoyed it more.
Visit the British Museum. You won't have enough with 3 days or maybe a whole week to see everything, but even for some hours, it really worth it !!
