    Science Museum in London

    by toniri4 Updated Feb 7, 2008

The Science Museum in London is a great museum - it has a lot of wonderful things to see and play with. It is done with a lot of creativity, it is very attractive. People can try a lot of different things in that museum-for example a cosmonaut's gloves.
The museum is big and it takes some good hours to visit it but it is worth every single item in that museum.
    We enjoyed it enormously.

The Science Museum is one of three British museums which, with the National Railway Museum, York and the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, Bradford which together are the National Museum of Science & Industry ( NMSI ).

The Science Museum opened in 1857, as the South Kensington Museum, on land purchased with the profits from the Great Exhibition of 1851. At the Science Museum visitors can experience the major scientific advances of the past 300 years. There are over 40 galleries with the world's finest collections in science history technology and medicine offer over thousands of interactive exhibits with many permanent displays. From working steam engines to Apollo 10. A IMAX 3D film theatre is now open.

The Science Museum holds the world's largest and most significant collection illustrating the history and contemporary practice of science, technology, medicine and industry.

    Very interesting place

While the Natural History Museum gets all the attention and all the glory, I think the Science Museum is a little more interesting.

I particularly liked the displays that showed items from various time periods.

This is a great place to bring children as its really educational and its also fun.

This is my favorite museum in London. It is so much fun!!

One section is about Earthquake. This picture is a scene featuring a scene of horror after a terrible eartquake in a Japanese city. The whole set is actually moving under your feet. Scary.

Great place to go and learn about past and present things from early Medicine to the first computer. Lots of hands on things to get involved in which makes it lots of fun while exploring the Museum.

For me the main draw here was the space and aviation sections specifically, and transport in general.
Was awesome to see the Apollo 10 command module, the `Rocket' steam engine.

    Entry is free.

This is a picture taken at the Science museum in the bugs section. This is what your breakfast would look like if you left your breakfast unattended for a whole day....
