    I'm sure Tower Bridge has been on every London traveler's page, but hey, it won't hurt just one more. So, you've walked by the river on the South Bank and finally reached the Tower Bridge. Which way do you head? Of course you cross the bridge, take pictures, preferably when one of the double decker buses is passing and head for the "monument". Confession; it took me a long time to understand that it's actually called the Tower Bridge and not the London Bridge.

    Tower Bridge is a bascule bridge over the River Thames and it is sometimes mistakenly called London Bridge. Construction of the bridge started in 1886 and it was opened in 1894.

    Located here on the Thames River is the famous Tower Bridge which is now a museum. Pay a visit to the museum which is well worth the modest admission fee. The Tower Bridge's image is synonymous with London. Other than Big Ben, the bridge is probably the most recognizable attraction in London. It is certainly the most decorative and spectacular bridge spanning the Thames and is also a functioning drawbridge. It was painted blue in honor of Queen Victoria's favorite color.

    The two-level Tower Bridge is the only elevated bridge in London. It is a shipping passage when the lower level is elevated. A twin walkway on the upper level is for pedestrians. Constructed in 1886, Tower Bridge is flanked by two towers. London city could be viewed from the north tower observation deck while Tower Bridge Museum on the south stores the bridge engineering equipments. Tower Bridge makes a good photography in the day or at night when it is beautifully lit. Opening hours: Apr – Oct (10am – 6.30 pm) Nov – Mar (9.30am –6pm)

    Tower Bridge is the symbol of London. Its towers built in neo-Gothic style in 1894. It is possible to go inside the towers and to see the exhibition about the history of Tower Bridge.

    Tower Bridge is on of the London's most familiar landmarks and the views from it's upper walkway are some of the city's best! The bridge was built in the late 1880s. And did you know? It's made up of over 27000 tons of bricks, enough to built around 350 detached homes!

    Tower Bridge spans the Thames River from the Tower of London to Southwark on the south side of the Thames. It was the only movable bridge crossing the Thames when it was completed in 1894. The bridge was designed by Sir Horace Jones and built by Sir John Wolfe Barry.

    I found some interesting facts about Tower bridge that you might be fascinated to know. In 1910the high-level walkways, which were designed so that the public could still cross the bridge when it was raised, were closed down due to a lack of use. most people preferred to wait at the bottom and watch the bascules rise up. In 1912 during an emergency, frank McClean had to fly bettween the bascules and the high level walkways in his biplane, to avoid an accident. In 1952a London bus had to leap from one bascule to the other when the bridge began to rise with the bus still on it. In 1977 Tower bridge was painted red, white and blue to celebrate the queens silver jubilee, the old colour was chocolate brown. In 1982Tower bridge opened to the public for the first time since 1910 with a permanent exhibition inside called the Tower bridge experience.

    Hey this is not London Bridge , But its callled the Tower bridge , London bridge is not falling down , But was actually taken down , By an American who fork out pound , But suprise he is when he found , That he actually bought the wrong one !!!
