The Roebuck is a typical English pub with decent food and cold beer. The coolest thing is that you can get a beer then walk across the road to the little park that overlooks the Thames River. Here you can sit and watch the beautiful sunset and people watch. View also includes the Petersham Hotel. The Roebuck itself is fine, just a litte smokey for my taste (like most pubs!)

The space between these two pubs is where the crowds gather on the warm summer evenings.
A right old mixture of drunks ,hooray henrys/henriettas, sloanes, it girls, rugger buggers, and aussies/kiwis drinking honeydew and lager.

The whole point of coming to Richmond is to get a pint and sit outside ,however if the London weather doesn't agree with this sentiment you can lounge in Henry's.
It's a bit posey in here and you certainly pay for the priviledge but the nice layout and huge bar certainly compensate , parties on the roof terrace are also worth a look.
Dress Code: This is Richmond so you might want to smarten yourself up a bit.

As the pubs close at 2300 hours, there is not much to do after, try and head into a small club by the bridge if you are not too fussy on the rest of the night, otherwise get to the pubs early!

O'Neills on the main road suffers from being always excessively crowded and having the bar queue in the narrowest part making it like a bloody rugby scrum.
