The Anrndale Centre is a city centre mall in the old, traditiuonal sense. Built in the 70's (I think) it's largely invisible from the outside, hidden behind the other streets of shops. Inside though, it's a labyrinth of shops of all types - mainly your "high street store" type. It has a good food court too that spans Market Street.

Located in the heart of the city, the Arndale Centre in a way dominates the shopping area of the citycentre. With its completion in 1979, it is one of the largest covered shopping centre in Europe. After the 1996 IRA bombing at the Arndale Centre Bus Station, the shopping centre has now got a face-lift and looks better than ever now!
What to buy: The Arndale Centre may well have all the shops you need, but to be honest, they are the same shops you will find in any city centre throughout the UK. Yes, they are all under one roof. The focal point has to be the great aroma from Millies Cookies floating around, so make sure you don't leave the place without getting some!

The Arndale Centre attracts hordes of shoppers in this vast indoor market filled with a combination of kitsch and class. Enjoy the sleek, modern, 1960s architecture!

Enough said really! Avoid it like the plague, there are far better places to shop around Manchester. All the big names seem to be leaving this 70's looking building!
