The Infamous Yorkshire street
If you go out on Yorkshire street on a night out just watch who you bump into.
relatively trouble free but there (liek any town) a small minority of idiots and trouble causers
luckily in the bars the doorman now seem to be fairly proffessional and will stop any trouble and also on Yorkshire street itself there is a strong police presence which deters (to some extent) people fighting on the street.
Chances are if your not the sort that goes looking for it or a non confrontational then you will be fine
The night time can be a bit rough
Be warned, the town center can get a little rough at night, with people getting attacked outside the bars and clubs on Union Street and Yorkshire Street. It can also be intimidating for people moving from resteraunts to the Colisseum Theatre, expecially the elderly.
Yorkshire Street aka Wildwest
The premier pub/club street in Oldham has been hugely improved in recent years. Taxi marshalls and police have made it much safer.
But keep your guard up. Many people have been attacked or even raped in this street, its bars and the backstreets surrounding.
Despite the police saying otherwise, there are areas to avoid depending on your race.
Whites would find it dangerous to go to Glodwick, Werneth and Coldhurst at night (and sometimes in the day)
Asians might want to avoid Limeside and Fitton Hill estates.
Oldham council, one big joke. They decided to have these racial areas in the 60's and 70's. Now they accept they got it wrong. No kidding
