    Life on Mars

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

BBC filmed 'Life on Mars' in and around the Area. The outside of their police station is our new town hall (the building Sam jumped off) and Luigi Motors in Disley was the car showroom they used when they were planting a microphone to listen in on a suspect.

Unique Suggestions: Do take pictures of the new town hall, but don't bug the guys at Luigi motors too much as they had a boring day watching the BBC do things over and over and over again.

Fun Alternatives: Find HILLGATE where it starts with the junction of Wellington road. Walk down to the town center having one pint in every pub. Not many will make it to the bottom of the hill....! Or you could find the spot in our town center where the river Goyt and river Thame meet to become the famous River Mersey.

    Tourist Trap?

by JamalMorelli Written Jan 5, 2007

They have a team of monkeys in tracksuits working around the clock on this one at the Dog and Partridge.

    So far... nothing.

No, I think you will find Stockport to be honest and wonderfully unpretentious as well as free of tourist traps.
