In the centre of Southampton is the historic Bargate, once the main entry into the Old Town. The area around it is now the place where markets are held regularly.

    FRIDAY MARKETS

The regular Friday markets have over 50 attractive, continental type stalls. Some of the delights on offer include: high quality fruit and veg, a local butcher, bakery and cake stall, Mediterranean olives, European cheeses, old fashioned confectionery, pet food and accessories, Fairtrade items, leather goods, gifts and a wide range of make up.If you’re feeling hungry there are also various food stalls offering treats such as noodles, hog roast and ever popular baguettes, burgers and hot dogs.

    SATURDAY MARKETS

Stalls on the regular Saturday markets vary each week depending on the season. The range of stalls, under attractive continental style canopies, may include produce from independent suppliers, growers and small farmers and original art work and design-led craft, mixed with traditional market sellers.
