June – Walking Festival
The Herefordshire Walking Festival lasts for 9 days and consists of 53 varied walks taking in the glorious rural countryside of Herefordshire. This year (2012) there are two long distance walks; “By Canal from Ledbury to Hereford” and “The Hill Forts & Castles Walk”, both of these walks run over the two weekends. New for this year is an introduction to “geocaching” a tour of a historic house and some activities around Symonds Yat.

I have already mentioned the traditional wood craftmanship to be seen in the picnic shelter on the woodland walk.
In the vicinity of a great forest it is not surprising to find examples of wood craft of all kinds.
The two large sculptures in front of the Saracen's Head were commissioned by the pub and created by a local craftsman.
Along the Wye valley walk look out for more examples of local craftmanship - like the carved seating melded into fallen rocks, including a rather lovely memorial seat to a local person.
