The Hope and Anchor: Riverside Retreat
The Hope and Anchor is a great looking pub located in a fantastic position right on the banks of the River Wye. There are some really pretty gardens with a large seating area to the front of the pub where you can enjoy some al fresco dining or a relaxing riverside drink. The interior is warm and cosy and has some great features such as a long wooden boat hanging high up on the ceiling - this is a reminder of the buildings former past as a boat builders. We popped in and enjoyed a coffee and a beer after a walk around the town and en route to nearby Symonds Yat. I would love to re-visit the Hope and Anchor to sample the menu... watch this space!!!
