A group of colleagues and I made a visit to Redcoats for lunch; it was in fact a post Christmas team event. I had never been to this venue previously, a number of the others had visited with work on a number of previous occasions.

Favorite Dish: I had a wonderful soup to start - and then went on to have quail for my main course. I discovered that I am not a liker of Quail.

Good portions; it seems the salads are larger than other local venues.

During our rugby tour of England, we had the pleasure of going to Hitchin for a match up of rugby playing versus the excellent side of Hitchin RFC. Prior to the game, they met us out at the local pub Motte and Bailey, where one of their own was the owner and proprietor, John Bennett.

We had an excellent time enjoying a pint the night before the game with the boys, and then playing them the next day.

I will also add a Travelogue for some more pictures of the drink up!

    I highly recommend the Guinness!

Alot of people enjoy travelling to big cities, which definitely have alot of appeal, but sometimes it is fun to just go into a random part of the country away from the urban sprawl.

Hitchin definitely fits this bill, as there is not alot to do in the town... but that does not mean it is not a place to see. I really enjoyed the peaceful scenery, and the friendly people!

If you are lucky enough to be in this location during Hitchin's rugby season, I would definitely stop in and catch a match. These were a bunch of fun guys to hang out with before and after the game, and they were definitely a good side.

I would highly recommend catching up!

Favorite thing: We were told that black squirrels are fairly rare in the UK and that we probably wouldn't see one but we came across this little guy while at the Hitchin Church. I just loved the squirrels in London and New York City so it was cool to see a little black one in Hitchin...

Favorite thing: Hitchin is only a small place so when you're there, park the car and get out and walk around the town. You will see some cute streets, nice buildings and great little shops along the way...

Favorite thing: We really enjoyed walking around the town of Hitchin...it was a nice change of pace after being in the busier cities/areas. It is a very pretty town and we enjoyed spending some time there.
