    Local bus

East Yorkshire provide Beverley's bus services and the bus station is in Sow Hill near the Market Cross. There is a local town service but many long distance buses stop here as well - notably the 121 from Hull to Bridlington and Scarborough and the X46 from Hull to York.

    Cream telephone box

You may be surprised to see cream telephone boxes in Beverley. This is because Beverley falls within the Kingston Communication area from its base in Hull and this is England's only independent telephone service - there is no BT service in this area.
For this reason you cannot use BT phonecards (do they still exist?) in these phone boxes and they are cash only.
