The Railway Station
The nearby city of HULL is a 15 minute train trip. Hull is a main station so it's possible (if those trains are on time) to catch services heading to major cities such as Leeds, Manchester, Manchester Airport, London ...etc
Alternatively if you fancy visiting some typical East Coast seaside towns then take the train from Beverley heading towards Scarborough (via Driffield, Bridlington, Filey).
Look at the website for a detailed timetable.
Parking in Beverley
Since those mean old types in the council introduced parking meters in the Market Square, Morton Lane and Grayburn Lane car parks, parking has still been as difficult as ever. It just costs more now. If you don’t fancy wasting £1.50 for ninety minutes or sitting waiting in your car to a battle for a space then head for Tesco’s, just off New Walkergate. Though parking is supposed to be ‘for shoppers only’ the car park is so vast, and the fact that you have to cut through the store complex to walk through the main shopping streets, no one will notice. You can shop leisurely, save money and not sweat so much when you see a vicious-looking traffic warden striding around. Take heed of the 'maximum stay three hours' signs posted by the store though, Tesco are obviously tolerating non-shoppers using the car park (to pacify the town council) but if you 'abuse' it for a whole day they will notice.

There's generally a train in either direction on the Hull to Scarborough line each half hour. Sadly The local train company Arriva haven't spent half as much money on this branch line as they have more profitable routes; thus the trains aren't always the newest and the service not as punctual as other networks. Travel outside of peak-time hours (07:00-09:00ish & 16:00 - 18:00ish) and you'll find your journey is significantly cheaper.
The station itself though quite an impressive structure to look at, is pretty desolate come nightfall and groups of youths will sometimes hang around doing the usual groups-of-youths-type-stuff. A taxi rank and public telephone are located by the main entrance to help speed you away to a more charming location.
- Family Travel
EYMS run the regular bus services between Hull, York and the surrounding villages. Check their website for routes and details. Beverley Sow Hill (awful name I know) Bus Station isn't the most pleasantly designed, but it's functional and will keep the rain off your head. If you're perplexed, wondering why classical music plays at night-time it's an 'ingenious' solution borrowed from another town council to deter vandalism and the groups of youths who often gather hear at night.

By Car ... parking can be fun
It can be difficult to find parking in the town and as a one way system is in operation you may start to feel like you are on a "merrygoround".
The nearest car park to the centre is at Tesco's Supermarket where you are permitted to park for 3 hours. You do not need to shop at the supermarket to make use of this facility. Simply just walk through the store & cross at the lights - the town is just straight ahead.
It is also possible to park in neighbouring streets but only for 1 or 2 hours as these are for residents.
There is on street parking in the centre and market place - buy a ticket from the grey machine.
On a Saturday it is possible to use the Council Staff car park which is situated between the new Court & the Public Library.
The cost is 50p per hour but after 6.00pm it is free.
There are a couple of other car parks - I will create a map as they are difficult to locate.
Sow Lane Bus Station.
Buses operate to/from the nearby city of Hull and go as far as York.
Local bus travel does tend be be time consuming & and is not the most reliable means.
The following National Express Buses also call at this station.
